One of the main characters was discussing one of the villains that we meet in this book and heavily implied that mental illness will cause people to harm others. The one thing I didn’t like about this book was something that was insinuated at the beginning of the book.

I hope that there is some good disability representation in the following book that are a continuation of events that took place in this book. We also see this story take a bit of a darker turn in it compared to the first book. Ellie had a lot of growing in this book and this was well written. I love the characters they are excellently written. I love this series and I’m super excited for the final book. The ending was intriguing on where the journey will continue, and I am already excited for the next book in the series. The world building is fantastic, and I loved how the avian features were integrated into the characters. They all had great dynamics with each other. I loved getting to know all of the characters, which included the side characters who were just as interesting as the main characters. They had great character arcs and even some of the twists surprised me. I absolutely loved the characters, and they are well fleshed out.

Sparrow Rising was a fantastic introduction to this series. Ellie is determined to fight against her fate and goes on a journey where she meets a group of outcasts who will cause her to question everything, she thinks she knows. Only members of the high clans are supposed to be Goldwings. Like other Sparrow Clan members, she is to be a farmer. But her destiny is already assigned based on the clan she was born into.
