It’s about how to mend things within yourself and your relationships with others. She is telling us all that she has learnt from her experiences.

The queen is about women empowerment and finding yourself. She speaks about grief and loss, love and heartbreak, regret and reflection. They’re almost life lessons given to us as narrators. She is reflecting and learning from the mistakes she’s made, and the mistakes of others. The damsel conveys the hurt she felt by people around her whether it’s boys, family or friends. Each one expresses her feelings about the person, as if she is looking back at the situation years later. There are poems about her relationships with her mother, sister and friends. There are poems about herself and battling demons within herself. The princess is about the narrator’s past experiences, her childhood and what she went through. The book is divided into four sections: the princess, the damsel, the queen and you.

It is a book about finding who you are and accepting yourself wholly to love yourself when others fail to and to pick yourself up when everyone pushes you down. It seems almost autobiographical in some poems but you are also able to relate to these feelings in some way.
